Hi! My name is Megan Hughes, and I am excited to be the Art teacher at Young this year. I have always had a deep love for Art and everything that it entails! In my free time I love making, creating, and crafting and can not wait to share that joy and passion with all of my students. When I am not doing "Artsy" things, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband, and our two children.
This year in Art, all students will be participating in an Art Choice Based Classroom. A choice based classroom allows for the students to really discover what they are passionate about and explore many different art mediums. When students first arrive, they spend the first five minutes diving into their creativity and complete a bell ringer prompt that is designed to get their brains to explore their imaginations. After the bell ringer prompt, students will learn about the elements of art, different artists, movements, and will work on projects that incorporate what they are currently learning. As students complete their artwork, they will get to choose an art based center that has been specifically picked to inspire and let each child explore the vast world of Art.
