The Wise County Chamber of Commerce hosts the Wise County Superintendents forum each year.  At this year's forum the WCCC started a new program to honor "employees of the year" from each district.  Decatur ISD's nominee for this recognition program is Tim Terrell.

Dr. Jones, Decatur ISD superintendent, read the following message at the forum.

Decatur ISD is honored to nominate Mr. Tim Terrell as our employee award nominee. Tim is a 1976 Decatur High School graduate and has been married to his wife Rayanna for almost 26 years. She is a 1984 DHS graduate. They have two sons, Tanner and Jackson, both DHS graduates.  Tim worked at The WC Messenger and iCopy for many years until he joined Decatur ISD in 2018.  Tim serves with Lisa Gage on the "Decatur High School Coming Home Queen" alumni committee each year.  He is a great source of Decatur ISD history that he shares proudly with anyone who asks.

Tim works in our maintenance department, but does so much more for our district beyond repairs and maintenance. I never see Tim when he is not smiling.  He is usually doing a kind act for someone. Tim is one of those people with a genuinely kind heart and someone we should all strive to be like. Part of the criteria for this award is “someone who exemplifies what your district represents.”  Tim immediately came to mind.  Decatur ISD strives to live up to the high bar that Tim's example sets each and every day and for that we say thank you!
