Safety Drill on Aug. 12 (Monday) from 1-4 p.m. at Decatur High School

Decatur ISD has planned an important district-wide safety training event that will take place on Aug. 12 (Monday) from 1-4 p.m. at the high school auditorium.

This training, which is crucial for enhancing our school’s preparedness, will include CRASE (Civilian Response to an Active Shooter Event) training as well as "mock" scenarios throughout the building. During these scenarios, participants will take on different roles in various locations to practice our Standard Response Protocol.

The training will be led by our local police and first responders, and it will involve simulated emergency situations, including loud noises and displays of force. Please know that any individuals acting as intruders will be local law enforcement officers or first responders. We ask that you do not be alarmed by the activity around the school during these hours. This is a controlled and well-supervised event designed to ensure that our staff is prepared to handle emergency situations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to ensure the safety and security of our entire school community.

Thank you for your continued support!
