City of Decatur Mayor Mike McQuiston officially proclaimed October 5, 2024, to be World Teachers's Day.
The proclamation reads, in part: "Now, therefore, I Mike McQuiston, Mayor of the City of Decatur do hereby proclaim Saturday, October 5, 2024, as World Teacher's Day, bring all citizens to honor and appreciate the dedication, passion, and impact of teachers everywhere. Let us celebrate their commitment to nurturing future generations and recommit ourselves to supporting their vital work."
