Several students on the Decatur High School swim team are hoping to make their mark in the Decatur history books.
In all, 20 swimmers are set to compete in the 2025 UIL State Swim Competition on Feb. 13 and 14 in San Antonio. There, they'll compete against some of the state's top swim talent in the 4A division. Additionally, for the first time in program history, all three of Decatur High School's Boys Relay teams advanced to state (200 Medley, 200 Free, 400 Free). Those teams will swim with the following projected placements:

In addition, the following students are competing in UIL's State Competition this year.
Girls Swim
Kenzi Hays qualified in 2 individuals (100 Breaststroke, 100 Free).
Laynee Ballou (5th Freshman in the program to qualify for state) qualified in 2 individuals (200 IM and 100 Breaststroke).
One girls relay qualified (200 Freestyle) and is swam by Laynee Ballou, Kady Martinez, Brooklynn Albaugh, and Kenzi Hays.
Boys Swim
Johnny Albaugh qualified in 2 individual events (100 Fly, 50 Free) and won Gold in the fly and Silver in the free last year. He holds the team and region record for Fly.
Logan Fultz qualified in 2 individual events (100 Free, 50 Free) and holds the team record and the region record in both events.
Aaron Williamson qualified in 2 individual events (500 Free, 100 Backstroke) and holds the region record in the back and 500 and the team record in the back.
Caleb McKee qualified in the 500 free.
