The Lady Eagles have cinched another win and advanced to the 4A Division 1 UIL State Semifinal Game!
The Lady Eagles Basketball team overcame an 8-point halftime deficit to win 42-37 against Canyon during the Region I-4A Division II championship game at Childress High School this past Friday.
“Man, it’s special, and I love these kids,” Decatur Coach Drew Coffman told the @WCMessenger. “Whether we had won or not, I would still love them. They’re just a special group of kids. I told them I didn’t want this run to end because it’s just so much fun being around them and working with them every day. They showed off their heart and resiliency today.”
Up next is the State Semifinals against Mabank at Mansfield Timberview High School on Feb. 25 (Tuesday) at 6:30 p.m. The ticket link will be shared once it becomes available.
“Decatur is a tough team. They’re by far one of the best teams we’ve played this season,” Canyon Coach Tate Lombard told the Amarillo Globe-News “Any time you make it this far, you have to beat a team like Decatur who is really talented.”
