All families and community members affected by this mornings storms are in our prayers.
All DISD students who were traveling by bus have arrived safely at campuses. Buses en route sheltered at the closest campus until the threat passed. There is no known damage to district buildings. All power has been restored to DISD campuses.
Decatur is under a tornado warning per the National Weather service. Due to the fact that buses are en route schools will be opened at normal times; however, our priority is the safety of all. Please wait until weather passes to travel and stay safe.

DHS band students, Eli Dollins, Aiden Lowe, Turner Johnson and Ronaldo Aguilar, were recognized at the December Decatur Board of Trustees meeting for earning chairs in the Region 2 All Region Band.
Young Elementary students, Ridge and Trale McCandless, led the pledges at the December meeting of the Decatur Board of Trustees.

Dr. Jones, DISD superintendent, and Cindy Tatum, DISD chief financial officer, rang the Salvation Army bell at the local WalMart along with other district staff to raise donations. The generosity of the Decatur community is an amazing thing. Thank YOU Decatur.

DISD CTE auto tech students competed in the North Texas Automobile Dealers Auto Tech Competition over the weekend. James Taylor, Mathew Massingale, and Ammon Lindsay and instructor, Andrew Maxwell represented DISD well! Thank you James Woods for providing field experiences!
